Linguistics section

I added a section for my linguistic work to the site, to house my main interests in the ancient Sumerian language, as well as detail my own con-lang project (which, although originally inspired by Sumerian, differs from it greatly).

Go ahead, check it out now.  And there’ll be a lot more coming over the next few weeks.

Placeholder (ebook)

Just a reminder that you still have time to pick up the ebook version of Placeholder (in any format you want) for half-price!  This offer is only available directly from our ebook distributor, Smashwords.com; and if you’re not ready to buy, that’s fine too, because you can read a free preview right there on the ebook page (I would recommend the HTML version of the text over the Javascript one, it’s a lot cleaner).

To get your digital copy of Placeholder, visit: http://smashwords.com/b/49464

And don’t forget the coupon-code when you order: JZ78N

Placeholder is also available in Hardcover directly from my aStore: http://astore.amazon.com/thephoeroncom-20/detail/192680113X and fine retailers everywhere.
(Paperback edition coming in July)

I’ve just added the IntenseDebate plugin here on thePhoeron.com to give my visitors tracked, integrated commenting across sites.  It also looks a hell of a lot shinier, which is double-plus good.  Of course, you don’t have to login with IntenseDebate if you don’t want to or don’t have an account; the standard wordpress commenting system is still included.

So why don’t you give it a try-out?  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

As you might have already noticed, the Phoeron Tarot (2005/06 draft edition) is back up in the Occultism section, including v2.04 of the Phoeron Tarot Guidebook.  You can browse through the cards with the same gallery system as used in the Art section, although I think I prefer Shadowbox and will probably be converting all the galleries here on thePhoeron.com back to Shadowbox soon.  Speaking of which, if you want to compare the Shadowbox wordpress implementation to the NextGEN Gallery plugin, just take a look at Books > Placeholder and click on the cover image.

The draft version of the deck won’t be online for much longer, though.  This year I will be beginning work on the final artwork and accompanying text to prepare the deck for print.  Once the final version of the deck is ready and published, it will take the place of the draft deck; but until then, you will be able to follow my work on both editions.  And yes, more occult projects are coming to the Occultism section soon, including excerpts from my upcoming reinterpretation of Ars Goetia, and the book of the mythology behind Phoeronism and the Phoeron Tarot deck, the Phoeronikon Book One: The Myth of the Burden-carrier.

International visitors will be pleased to find that they can now read all content on thePhoeron.com in over 50 languages, courtesy of the GTranslate plugin, which automatically updates all translatable content on the fly using the Google Translate system.  To auto-translate any page on thePhoeron.com, just select your language from one of the flags below the search box or from the drop-down list.

Also, if Google’s auto-translate fails miserably, let me know.  I can also enter manual translations if there’s a need.  And don’t forget to leave a comment to say what you think of the new feature!

That’s right, thePhoeron.com has been completely overhauled as a WordPress.org site, featuring the NextGEN Gallery Plugin.  You can look forward to lots more great content and additions in the coming weeks.  Enjoy.
